Cityscape becomes our object of perception, perpetually harkening back to its own recollected circumstances that allowed for the assimilation, the psychological feature of which is a metaphorical subject matter rather than physical. The urban scale to which we find ourselves exposed is then subjectively opposed to the space of one’s mind, as this latter to assist the understanding of contemporary life and collective mentality derived from the very concept of city. “City” becomes a set of conscious reflections proclaiming itself from the imperfect, immanent lack of the reality. Shedding a personal light on this particular issue is thus here the principal matter of contemplation. As for the methodological and material aspect, the compulsive yet artificial activity of cutting and pasting colors would help probe into the possibility of expanded field of expressivity, reassuringly against the current of traditional painting.
